The early twenty-first century was marked by the rise of China, whose power of attraction is irresistible. I was lucky enough to witness this phenomenon:

My pictures on China are necessarily fragmentary, but testify this era of globalization in which China has become "the manufacturer of the world". If we want to summarize in one word that continent, “contrast” should be the one, with the example of Shanghai with its myth and its prodigious mutation and Yunnan, a mountainous region which is the gate to the mysterious Tibet through the South.
